Harness the power of imagination — guide by Peter Jones

I started my own journey to grow potential entrepreneurship out of sudden as I got an inspiration from one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the UK, Peter Jones.

To be honest, I didn’t recognize who he is actually before I got to see a TV Show “Drangon’s Den”. Neither did I know of the program before actually but for some reason the TV show grabbed me with its own attraction like potential entrepreneurs giving pitch about their own business ideas or concepts or actual products that are being prototyped or already sold in the market, and being challenged by “Dragons” who are actually multi millionaire investors with practical experiences in running business.

I watched the TV show for fun in the beginning but in the end I started to get serious about it. That is because it unknowingly ignited my inner demand to pursue my dream again. My dream is to run my own business. but the problem has been for a long time that it is too vague to make it into reality.

Once the ignition gets some smoldering flames, I began to look up who Peter Jones is in the internet. Then, I easily found his website http://www.peterjones.com.

and the most surprisingly, he is giving actual Business Guide for new entrepreneurs in his website http://www.peterjones.com/business-guide/harness-the-power-of-imagination/.

After completing reading through the document, I felt encouraged to start my own journey to the entrepreneurship with the guide.

At least, good thing is that the first step of becoming entrepreneurship is daydreaming as it is specified in http://www.peterjones.com/media/77/1777-2.-harness-the-power-of-imagination_.pdf.

I am actually full of imagination all the time. but more importantly, what kind of imagination? it must be a plausible one, not a total fantasy. which means, I need to deeply look into weaknesses and strengths of an idea before tuning and any proceedings.

So, I am ready to apply this frame to my idea.

I got several ideas and the one that I choose is

“The Shared Church”.

every now and then, church has been owned by an entity. The entity could be a person or a group or a organization. which means, every operation and activity that is related to the church is mainly controlled by the specific entity not by every member of the church.

Because of this, we had some inevitable drawbacks like causing hierarchical ranking among church members such as pastors, ministers, servants, evangelist, elders, and laymen etc.

We are not supposed to be in ranks among ourselves in any churches but that thing happened, that is obvious to us. Just one typical example demonstrates how the drawback is giving bad general impression about the “people with faith”. which is Pastor spending money for his own purpose and family business with money from people, and even lots of them try to pass down church to their own sons as if church is their own legacy.

but in “The Shared Church”. The power is not centralized in the hands of only few people designated but distributed across countless many people that have the responsibility and freewill to join the operation of church.

But how it is going to be decentralized? Simple, I am going to increase the accessibility of church’s properties.

For now, it’s almost hard to access how a church is being operated and even people are not really interested or afraid to access because they think their responsibility ends from the moment they give away their money. Because of that misperception, I give upon the transparency of church operation and leave it corrupted.

To solve this problem, we need an environment where everyone can access transparently how money is spent on what purpose clearly in any church and people can express their own ideas for better church’s sake and even they are required to vote for any activity in church and get engaged accordingly, not sitting back and observe with the hands in the pockets.

This is How I am harnessing the power of imagination. For the next step, I will be looking in to the strengths and weaknesses of the idea.

Thanks.
